With regard to the origin of our designs, several of them are of a type we refer to as "High Country" designs. Typically these designs include stylized renderings of trees, moon, mountains, stars and water. We have been offering these designs especially to people who visit the high country of Western North Carolina or Upper East Tennessee, and they are available in a few of the more exclusive galleries and boutiques in Blowing Rock, Banner ELK, Boone and West Jefferson, all of which are in western North Carolina.
Other designs come from books. We might alter the design of some item, as we have done with the more intricate Celtic Knot designs. As well, we thought that some designs were fine just the way they were illustrated in books or magazines that we've looked at. This is true of the Christmas Tree Ornaments, (although we varied their sizes from the original).

You'll notice that everything we offer is in the "pierced work" style. That means that, starting with a flat sheet of metal, (Sterling Silver in our case), after we have mounted the design on the metal, we pierce the metal by drilling a small hole through the appropriate space in the pattern. Once the hole is drilled, a small saw blade is inserted through the hole. The desired design is cut out according to the pattern. Sometimes the pattern calls for one or two holes or piercings. It is our hope that you will find something that you like at our website. Our product is absolutely unique in many ways and we think that you will be receiving real value for your small investment. This is the type of jewelry you will be pleased to present to someone you love for a special occasion. And it's inexpensive enough to give it as a favor or as a statement of affection. Our products are entirely handmade. No one else that we know of is making jewelry of this kind by hand - it's just too labor intensive. Of course, because they are made one at a time, they are by definition unique. As you can imagine, they are already rare - just like anything that is made entirely by hand, so it is very unlikely that you will see any piece like ours on anyone you know unless you gave it to him or her. And, just to add a special final touch so that you know that we made it, each piece is "signed" with a very small, stamped, "KD."
Each item purchased is packaged in it's own small gift box. It is placed in it's own small "zip-lock" polybag and inserted in a small velveteen drawstring pouch with our card which says something about the piece and the care with which it was made, emphasizing the fact that it was made entirely by hand. The card also includes contact information. The small gift box is then placed in a larger (though small) corregated box for shipment. This ensures that the package will arrive safely at its destination. Shipping costs will vary depending upon destination.
